Community Manager: Part-Time Contract, Potential Full-Time

About Us:
Human Computer is an indie game studio founded by technology veterans and fans of beautifully crafted video games.
We're making games with high production values that are easy to pick up but hard to put down. We want to put out work that make people feel things and create lasting memories while being commercially successful.
Our debut game blends golf and pachinko into a mid-core roguelite. We’re gearing up for a Steam lanch in Q3 2025.
The Role :
We are searching for a part-time Community Manager who will lead the growth and engagement of our game’s community across multiple platforms, including YouTube, X, Threads, TikTok and Discord . This person will help develop and execute our community strategy as we prepare for the game’s launch. You’ll be responsible for building an online presence, cultivating relationships with our players, managing social content, and ensuring our communication is consistent and on-brand. Experience with indie game launches is a must.
Responsibilities:
• Develop and execute a community and social media strategy that aligns with our game launch goals.
•Manage and grow our social media accounts (Twitter/X, TikTok, Instagram, Threads, etc.) and community platforms (Discord, SubStack).
• Create engaging and on-brand content for social media channels, including text posts, images, and short-form videos.
• Track and analyze community growth, engagement metrics, and content performance.
• Coordinate PR and media opportunities, including submitting the game to press, managing event submissions, and tracking industry events for potential engagement.
• Build relationships with influencers, media outlets, and community partners.
• Foster a positive and inclusive atmosphere within our player community.
• Provide feedback to the team based on community sentiment.
Requirements:
• Proven experience in community management, particularly within the indie game space.
• Strong understanding of social media platforms and their respective best practices.
• Excellent written communication skills with the ability to adopt different tones of voice.
• Experience with content creation (basic graphic design, video editing).
• Experience managing a Discord community.
• Ability to work autonomously and take ownership of community growth and strategy.
• Familiarity with Steam and indie game marketing/launches.
• Comfortable with flexible work hours and must be available during PST business hours.
Bonus Points For:
• Experience working with PR agencies or managing PR campaigns.
• Experience in event submissions, coordination, and management.
Contract Details:
• Part-time contract for the first three months with potential for full-time based on performance.
• Rate dependent on experience.
